fieldwork and research, this annual festival celebrates the
folklife of Louisiana and the surrounding region.

To support Hip Hop: Kicking Rhyme. The program will feature a
multidisciplinary performance event, a visual art exhibition and a
theater residency.

To support production costs and related expenses for books of
poetry. Scheduled titles include Dabney Stuart's The Man Who
Loved Cezanne, David Huddle's Grayscale, Catharine
Brosman's The Muscled Truce and R.T. Smith's
Brightwood.
National Performance Network, Inc.

To support the creation of work and dance touring. The project
will include dance residencies and related educational and outreach
activities in over 21 communities throughout the United States.

To support the presentation of a series of dance companies
representing modern, ballet and ethnic dance. National,
international and local dance companies will perform in 17
concerts.
New Orleans Opera Association

To support the commissiong and production of The
Baroness by Thea Musgrave. This historical opera, based on the
life of the Baroness Micaela Almonaster Pontalba of New Orleans,
will be the centerpiece for the celebration of the Louisiana
Purchase Bicentennial.
