Alaska Dance Theatre, Inc.
CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Dance
To support residencies by choreographers. The choreographers will each create works for Alaska Dance Theatre, and teach master classes at the School of Alaska Dance Theatre, area high schools, the University of Alaska-Anchorage, and for the general public.
Anchorage Concert Association, Inc.
CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Presenting
To support the Alaskan premieres of artists in the 2007 season. Each artist will provide public performances and educational and outreach activities for local students, audiences, and various community groups.
Anchorage Opera Company
CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Opera
To support the commissioning and presentation of an opera by composers Michael Ching and John Pingayak and librettists David Hunsaker and Jack Dalton. Based on Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, the new work will fuse elements of indigenous Alaskan mythology and storytelling traditions with Western operatic composition.
Juneau Jazz & Classics, Inc.

To support the Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival. Approximately 32 jazz and classical musicians will be presented during the nine-day festival.
Perseverance Theatre, Inc.
CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater
To support the world premiere production of The Raven Odyssey. The project will weave together folkloric stories of Raven gathered from Alaskan Native cultural groups to create a pan-Alaskan celebration of the state's history and indigenous cultures.
